recent purchases..

so as i've mentioned in my old posts, i went on quite a shopping spree when i was in calgary. right now, i've tucked them away in my closet but since i haven't really done any decent fashion post (and i don't have an outfit photo to share with you today), i thought i'd share with you what i got...

i need more bottoms: loose trousers and cheap denim jeans from forever 21


not as pictured: this blazer in a cream color from h&m and berets (not toques) from talula c/o aritzia


camel love: coat & corduroys in this season's it color from zara
oh and i also got wedges, but i can't find them in zara's site anymore


skin care essentials: finally got st ive's mask & scrub on sale!


make up musts: nyx jumbo eye pencil in milk & mac matte powder blush in prism

quite a handful, eh? most of those are really things that have been on my ''need'' list like a good coat for winter, some trousers to give me more outfit combinations for work and the mask which i ran out of a few weeks ago. some of them, i just got by using old store gift cards that i have kept in my stash like the beret, blazer and blush (alliteration, much?). and some i just can't resist buying because of their insane cheap price namely the jeans for $11, the scrub for $3 and the eye pencil for $4.

swaying through summer

my cousins came back from the states awhile ago and i decided to visit them in the afternoon after i got my beginner's license. it was nice to see what goodies they got back from their long weekend trip. of course we can't let the day pass without major goofing around. hahahaha!

they were nice enough to buy me a pair of sandals and a feather necklace. it's great because i can totally incorporate them in my summer wardrobe!

outfit: old navy top, joe fresh shorts, keds sneakers, f21 rings, sm headband

speaking of summer, i just want to let everyone know that sway.com is launching its site tomorrow! what got me more excited is that i received some images of the dresses they were selling on the site. basically, you sign up as a member and you get first dibs on whole sale prices of the dresses before they are set out in the public for retail (higher) prices. i don't know about you, but if i can get anything cheaper, why will i not take it?

I read this book and LOVED IT! I've been to Bali and everything they say about it is true and more. Bali is TRULY a paradise and the best place I've been in my entire life. You should seriously go someday! It is the ONE place I would go if I had one place to spend the rest of my life.

now, i want to read the book myself. and lucky you for being able to go to bali. it's so funny how i used to live near indonesia (coz i lived in the philippines) and i haven't been there! people have said that bali is truly some form of paradise here on earth. now i have to add that to my go-to list! teehee!

saturday shopping

i spent the whole saturday afternoon walking around the mall and trying to get stuff for myself and my family. but before heading there, we stopped by a farmer's market just to look into what they're selling there. it's quite amazing how they have all these fresh produce and also a wide variety of ethnic ingredients.

afterwards, headed to crossiron mills. i was just really looking forward to buying clothes from the only forever 21 store here in calgary. but the lines to the fitting room were so so long that i didn't even bother buying any piece of garment. i did, however, get a purse and quite a number of connector rings. hahaha!

walking for hours made my boyfriend, his cousin and myself really tired and hungry so we ended up going downtown to grab dinner. we had mongolian food!!! yum yum! damn, this trip is making me fatter and fatter. aaahhh!

currently addicted to bodysuits!

as i mentioned in my previous post, i went to zara yesterday to check out their new items. even though, there weren't any sales whatsoever, i was so drawn to the bodysuits in their new arrivals section. aaahhh!!! i've been obsessing over bodysuits for quite some time now, just like how im still obsessed with connector rings! hahahaha! if only i could transform all my current tops to their bodysuit version, i would!

anyway, i made some online surfing to my fave stores and picked out bodysuits that are definitely on my wishlist!

on new jeans & tv shows

wow.. it's thursday already? today i actually told myself to pick up the pace here in my blog and i decided to take some new items for a spin.

outfit: kamiseta tunic, f21 jeans & shades, le chateau boots, joe fresh belt

got my denims and shades from forever21, together with the rings i mentioned in my previous post. i was never intending to buy jeans from the store, but i saw this pair for only $15 and i knew i just had to try them on. lo and behold, they fit wonderfully!

on television news...

who watched american idol last night? is it just me or do the singers really suck this season? maybe it's too early to tell, but in as much as i can remember some good ones from the auditions, i don't think last night's performances were any good. i only saw the guys. last tuesday, i thought they weren't airing the girls' performances due to the winter olympics coverage.

speaking of olympics.. im kinda ecstatic right now watching the women's hockey game. it's usa vs. canada for the gold medal! the score is 2-0 in favor of canada (of course! haha!). canada's one period away from the gold medal! aaaaaahhhhh!!!

oh retail stores

so this post is a cumulative one for the shops and stores i was able to visit back in calgary. if you guys still do not know, i live in a city where we do not have a forever 21, h&m, topshop or zara. we're pretty lucky to have an american apparel store though. hahaha!

at edmonton mall
outfit: bench tee, suzy shier blazer, aa skirt, gojane shoes, ardene tights

anyway, one of the things i looked forward to in calgary was seeing the bigger versions of the stores and visiting stores that i haven't physically been into. also, they only had 5% tax there so everything was cheaper than in winnipeg.

i got $10 trousers!!!

3 for $10 bras!!! OMG!

i didn't get anything here but they had such amazing pieces!
i used to window online shop here all the time! hahahaha!

it was overwhelming to step into f21 for the first time!!!
omg! i spent like hours and hours inside!

another store i absolutely love! i can't wait til this opens here in the city.
oh btw, it's officially the bf's fave store too! hahaha!

no i didn't get much from my trip. 2 pairs of pants, couple of rings, lace skirt, pink top, knit scarf, bras on sale and some eyeshadow stick & lipstick. i was still on a budget, you know. hahaha! i cant wait to wear them once spring starts.

but now that i've seen how fantastic the shopping there was/is, im planning to do my shopping in periods now. like say i save money so that i can travel there and visit my bf and at the same time do end of season shopping there. hahahaha!
