slow down...

somehow this week is taking its toll on me. im so tired, but i really don't understand why since i just sit down and type in front of a computer at work. maybe it's the long hours of handling paper, maybe it's trying to squeeze in that extra 10-minute sleep when my alarm rings in the morning or maybe it's just because the weather this week has not been so nice and pretty.

all i know is that this coming week will be even more stressful. my family and i have this wedding to attend to tomorrow. sunday will be reserved for studying for my upcoming citizenship test. for monday and tuesday, i will need to work overtime since i'll be getting some hours off on wednesday, when i take my test downtown.

on the more positive side of things, october is almost here. a paycheck is coming too and im slowly counting the days til i get to see my boy for the thanksgiving weekend! hurray!

i apologize in advance if i'll be slowing down on (outfit) posts for the coming week. i'll be back on track as soon as i can catch up with the happenings in my life. teehee!

GLEE is BACK!!!

hmm... this outfit didn't turn out the way it did in my head. hahahaha! but, what the heck.. i wanted to wear my maxi skirt just before it starts to get too cold for it.

i actually replaced the denim shirt with a long cardigan but when i was about to take photos of it, the camera's batteries died on me.

but enough of my outfit now. did you guys see glee?? it premiered tonight with its new season. here's the thing, i am not a big fan of the show.. i watch it whenever i catch it on but im not a religious follower or a "gleek", if you know what i mean.. but i was so so glad i was able to record this first episode on our tv.

PS: I've been to it this summer when they came to Montreal!!!! It was a great exposition, I went with my two younger cousins, and there were two VERY PATIENT med students explaining everything to them (I really appreciated that!). The exposition itself was amazing, the organs were very well preserved, the part I appreciated the most was the reproductive system part, where they showed fetuses in all these different stages... You should definitely check it out!:P

aahhh yes.. the blazer makes it extra chic almost at an instant. and about the bodies exhibition: you just gave me the idea of having my science student friends tag along so that they can explain to me what i'll be seeing. teehee!

My Way, Her Way, Their Way: The Peterpan Collar

Time for another installment of My Way, Her Way, Their Way! This time around, I told Bestie if we can try out the Peterpan Collar trend and she gladly obliged.

Ever since I received that detachable collar through the Chic Swap, I have been trying to find ways on how I can wear it with all of my tops, hahahaha! I think the really awesome thing about peterpan collars is that they give any look, that extra adorable vintage feel to it. Look at me trying to fight the wind!

I decided to go all out vintage school girl chic in wearing this trend. I think the peterpan collar goes very well with the a-line skirt and the white socks-oxfords combo. While Bestie looks very modest and classy with the hounds tooth printed dress. I really love that cameo brooch pin in the middle of the collar. What a way to spice the peterpan collar up!

Of course, this won't be My Way, Her Way, Their Way without our invited bloggers. The moment we decided on this trend, I just knew that the Dynamic Duo, Jen & Jasmine, were the perfect people to invite. Jasmine of Transient Withdrawal played it well with her signature print mixing. The bows, stripes, dots and of course the peterpan collar make this whole look just so darling. Jen of Jennifhsieh had this adorable dress on that was just ultra chic and feminine. It was such an easy and effortlessly stylish look.

Overall, I think this collaboration was a success! I really love this trend and you are definitely going to see more of this peterpan collar here with my outfits! what would you do?

hey everyone!!! i have never tried going for a military look but as soon as i got this army green romper from macy's, i knew i had to try it with my black boots. especially now that summer is almost over, i can probably transition this look to fall by adding some tights/leggings, yes?

anyway, so i know most of you reading my blog are fashion bloggers too.. some of you might have photographers who take your outfits photos, but i know some of you, like me, take pictures using the camera timer with a tripod (or not).

well.. have you ever had a time when you were trying out different poses and all of a sudden someone caught you taking pictures of yourself. everytime i read it in other blogs, i always find it funny because i can relate to it.

take these photos for example.. as you may have noticed, there isn't much variety in the photos. that's because in the middle of the shoot, my neighbor went out in the back lane and saw taking photos of myself. we even had that awkward moment where i was trying to wait for the 10-second timer and she was just standing there staring at me. wahahahahahaha!

have you ever had those awkward moments while taking self timer photos? what happened? what did you end up doing?

as bloggers, do you ever have those days when you feel like you have so much to talk about that you want to do about 3 posts in one day. but then again, there are days when you totally have nothing to blog about. well, that latter one is what's happening to me right about now.

i slipped into this white shirt again to run around the neighborhood for some grocery shopping. im slowly discovering the power of the white shirt. it's just so basic but effortlessly chic. plus, don't you find it amazing how you can still look and feel sexy even with a modest piece like this. i'll definitely be looking out for similar pieces this coming fall! :D

i love this bag and it's such a shame i haven't been using it often enough

for a friday, i did some pretty boring stuff. i ended up getting some drinks for a bbq and pool party im attending tomorrow -- cantaloupe+milk for those who do not drink alcohol, smirnoff ice for the ladies and budweiser for the guys.

yup, that's a birthmark in my left leg (it grows with me too!)

omg, i can't believe you actually work at the exchange district!? that would be so tempting with all the pastry shops and fashion boutiques around. if anyone is planning to go to winnipeg (or lives here), i suggest trying to visit that area (as well as corydon, osbourne and academy). neat stuff!!! and the fringe is going on this week too!!! (oh gosh, am i sounding like a winnipeg ambassador now? oopps! :P)

the weather cooperated with my mood today. it was dreary, cloudy and gloomy. i can even hear thunders while typing this and it's 11pm already.

i've been running some errands at the university this week so there has been a slow down in postings and blog hopping, i apologize if i haven't gotten back to anyone.

i think i deserve to vent once in awhile because sometimes, even though life seems to be fine, it slaps you in the face and makes you feel worthless, unproductive and just plain stupid.

i've been drowning myself with maria mena, ingrid michaelson and elisa's songs until i fall asleep.

from a rainy day to a sunny one. talk about bipolar weather. im getting a headache, really. hahaha! anyway, today i practiced driving around the neighborhood, met with my cousins and attended a high school graduation ceremony.

gaaahh!! i scratch my head and think to myself that it's been about 7 years since the time i was in their position. gosh, im getting old..

and since we are on the topic of getting old, that also means getting a job. second interview tomorrow. i'm a wee bit worried since i don't know what to expect. i just want to get it over and done with. i'll update you as soon as i receive some news from it!

oh and btw, i've been overwhelmed with the amount of new followers and comments i get nowadays.. really, i still get excited over it. hahaha! i do apologize though if i am not able to visit your blogs. i've been quite swamped with this thing called social life, hahaha! sometimes, i feel bad if im not able to take time to visit your blogs, but i promise i will get back to everyone!!

ch ch ch changes...

if you're a frequent reader of my blog, then you would have noticed that i changed my layout a bit. i've always wanted to get rid of the 'black border' in my photos, so i'm glad i was able to take care of that. also, i wanted to adjust the width of the blog posts itself so that i can post bigger images.

my big concern now is to make sure that i get good photos that won't pixelate or scatter when resized. either that or i may need to change my camera settings.

im trying out bigger images now for my outfit posts. sorry if the images may seem washed out. today's outfit is just a remix of yesterday's since i just stayed home for the most part of the day. hope you don't me wearing that striped top and oxfords again (finally, im wearing stripes!).
