back to fashion and beauty!

as promised, im all about catching up with all the fashion related posts that i owe you! as i mentioned in one of my posts, i went to a garage sale last week and i ended up bagging this floral romper. i actually didn't realize it was a romper until i got it, so i guess now i can say that i own my very first one!

outfit: vintage romper, 3d glasses, sirens belt, gojane oxfords, f21 ring

i think it's vintage because the cut is quite odd and low waisted --unlike the rompers that you see in stores right now. i actually like it. i just added a belt to break-up the floral print overdose and to make the style better for my bodyshape.

aside from the garage sale, i also received a few cosmetic items. im not a big make-up person, but once in a while i do find myself watching youtube tutorials and wanting to tinker around with my face. one of my professors at the university gave me the maybelline 4 eye shadow palette, while arianne gave me the nude lipsticks (neutrogena: sheer luck & revlon: almost nude).

she also gave me this wonderful 88 eye shadow color palette! look at those shades!! what more can i ask for! i'm no make-up expert, but i can't wait to experiment with this!!

the pair with the bows and the low heels is just so darling and adorable! perfect for those girly looks i've been trying out lately. on the other hand, the dark taupe pair has that classic look with the unexpected sole/heel design.

aaahh yes, isn't it amazing!? i love their cream-stick blush too!! their black liquid liner is a dupe for the mac one and they recently added nail polish in their beauty line!! i mean, pretty much, if you live in canada, joe fresh is pure amazingness! hahaha!

you know how you have one of those days when you feel like crap and you feel like you're not getting anything done.. feeling so unproductive and admittedly being frustrated in life? well, that's today for me. so i apologize for this post will be quick and short.

today was such a wonderful day. i decided that my bf and i should go skating at the forks. it was gorgeous outside and we didn't want the day to be put to waste of course...

-4 degrees = perfect skating weather!

it's been awhile since i used these

i was trying to figure out what to wear for a skating day. i really wanted to wear a skirt, but i didn't know if i'll last the whole afternoon if i did that. i ended up wearing jeans and my new oxford shoes! :D

it was good that there weren't so many people at the forks so i had more space to practice my non-existent skating skills. haha! my bf was having a grand time since he loved this activity. as for me, i have this love-hate thing going on with it. i know how to balance myself, but when i get the flow and start to accelerate, i just end up in the ditch or something since i don't know how to stop! hahahaha!

by 4pm, we decided to end our skating escapade and headed to a nearby italian & greek restaurant called Sta. Lucia. its funny because the last time we were in this place was the exact same date last year. anyway, food was so delicious as always. i was just watching iron chef last night with cheese as their main ingredient and getting the lasagna for dinner awhile ago was just satisfaction!!!!

oh btw, if you have been reading my chictopia posts before, you know that i used to work in campus as a grader/marker for accounting. guess what? they totally hired me again for this semester! finally, at least i have something to be busy about for the next 3 months or so. yay for that!

oh... i'll probably be doing another haul post next week since i got some new things here and there. oh the simple joys of freebies. *wink wink*

best week ever

for reasons more than one, i think that this week is just amazing!! i was looking at mymanitoba.com and saw the 5-day forecast.
goodness!!! we don't get positive temperatures during winter and certainly we don't get anything above -10 during january. aaaahh!!! 5 degrees? sunny? tomorrow? beach, perhaps? hahahaha! i kid, i kid. :P

aside from that, i received my new shoes in the mail. they're from gojane.com. it took them about 2 weeks to get here, which is a bit long but im quite surprised with the item i got. they're much more than i expected since i've heard bad quality rants about their shoes. but, upon seeing mine, i was quite pleased. they're exactly what i was looking for plus a bit more.

i love that it had a rich dark brown color and 0.5 inch heels
(i thought they were going to be super flat).

i just need to test them out to see their comfort level.

oh oh.. i stumbled upon this new version of the karate kid. it stars jaden smith and jackie chan. probably not gonna be as epic as the original version, but just as entertaining (based on the trailer).

hope you will have a good week ahead. now off i go to more job hunting...
