recent purchases..

so as i've mentioned in my old posts, i went on quite a shopping spree when i was in calgary. right now, i've tucked them away in my closet but since i haven't really done any decent fashion post (and i don't have an outfit photo to share with you today), i thought i'd share with you what i got...
i need more bottoms: loose trousers and cheap denim jeans from forever 21

not as pictured: this blazer in a cream color from h&m and berets (not toques) from talula c/o aritzia

camel love: coat & corduroys in this season's it color from zara
oh and i also got wedges, but i can't find them in zara's site anymore

skin care essentials: finally got st ive's mask & scrub on sale!

make up musts: nyx jumbo eye pencil in milk & mac matte powder blush in prism

quite a handful, eh? most of those are really things that have been on my ''need'' list like a good coat for winter, some trousers to give me more outfit combinations for work and the mask which i ran out of a few weeks ago. some of them, i just got by using old store gift cards that i have kept in my stash like the beret, blazer and blush (alliteration, much?). and some i just can't resist buying because of their insane cheap price namely the jeans for $11, the scrub for $3 and the eye pencil for $4.

how about you?? what have you bought lately? any good stuff out there that you've discovered?

recommendations?

since we're on the final stretch of summer, im trying my best to wear florals, bright colors and denim all in one outfit. the weather has been up and down.. from a sunny morning to windy afternoon to a chilly night. it's weird, im telling you..

don't you think this outfit looks a bit 90's?! i think i even made it more funky with my hair up and those chains. hahahaha! it's nice to exaggerate once in a while...

outfit: gap denim shirt, vintage romper, divi chain necklaces, aldo wedges, forever21 rings

anyway, just like my title says.. i need some skin care advice especially from those of you who have full time jobs and want to maintain looking fresh the whole day. let me tell you first that i have EXTREMELY oily skin so before you recommend anything, i hope you take that into consideration.

im currently looking for the following products:
1. facial toner that won't break me out
2. facial scrub & facial mask - drugstore brand
3. make up foundation - not heavy, won't break me out and affordable (also, i prefer a liquid one)
4. oh and what brush do you use for your foundation

i would really love it if you can recommend something to me.
thanks a lot!

Whaaat the heck. I love those tights.
Are those a recent purchase? I want spotted tights oh-so-bad.
One day let's do a food-tripping Thursday together, seeing as we're both from the 204 and all, haha. ;)

the tights were purchased a season ago. they were on sale for abou $3 too so i can't resist that! :) and i say yes for a food tripping adventure. we can meet up downtown after work, i want to try some the marcello's italian place there! :D email me if you're interested, gazel!

grateful

first off, i'd like to say thank you to all the warm and sweet comments you gave me on my previous post. i really appreciate all of you showing your concern and even lending a listening ear. :D not that my concern has totally went away, but im really feeling a lot better today. im trying to stay positive and just thinking that eventually things will fall into place. cliche as it may sound, i want to believe that things happen for a reason.

anyway, back to regular programming.. today, i went to a kid's party. since i've been feeling crappy, i forgot to take pictures of the event. booh me! and yeah, i wasn't in the mood to really dress up all nice and kid-party-appropriate (i have my period and it sucks!!!) hence this oh so lazy outfit..
outfit: team manila tee, AE jeans, gojane oxfords

the bday celebrant!

oh.. speaking of getting your period (hahaha, i know i have no shame!), what normally are your symptoms or signals that tell you that you're getting it soon? i ask this because, i now know why i have been getting the worse breakouts lately. aside from me not feeling good, i just got my period. so with hormones & my oily skin, i get insane acne. i have been trying to counter the breakouts with my skin regime, which is nothing fancy. im trying out cetaphil cleanser plus the olay moisturizer.
i really love cetaphil! it really makes my skin soft and after using it i always feel like my skin can "breath more". it doesn't have any harsh chemicals in it so i can definitely use it twice a day. what i usually do is just wash my face with a bit of water, get one pump of the cleanser, apply it thoroughly in my face, rinse it off and gently pat (not rub or wipe) my face with my towel to dry.

this got rid of my skin flakes beneath the eyes and cheeks while, i occasionally still get some in my nose. with the harsh winter here, my face gets really dry and this was a good affordable solution to that. unfortunately it doesn't have spf so it might not be as advisable for tropical weather. but i really love that it's light and you just need a pinch or so to cover your face. i use it before i apply any make-up.

what's your skin regime?
i want to know what works out there in the market.
