ooohhh hello real world!

since i'll be probably be wearing really business-y boring slacks and shirts for this coming week, i'll try to post more entertaining outfits like what i have on now. i tried to resurrected my lace skirt and paired it with one of the tops that jasmine sent over to me in our clothes swap. you see, im trying to make the most out of my summer items since fall is slowly creeping in.

outfit: top c/o clothes swap, h&m skirt, jacob belt, walmart hat, havaianas flip flops

tomorrow marks my first day in my new job. i still don't know what to expect since all i got from this verbal job offer was that i need to go to the main office and submit some documents. i spent the afternoon trying to iron my clothes since the main dress code is business casual. i still haven't figured out what to wear, but hopefully when i come to the building tomorrow, i'll get a feel of what i can and cannot wear.

im excited and a bit nervous since it's my first 'real' full time job. i hope that my bosses will be decent and i hope that i'll have really nice co-workers. i hope i do end up liking the job so that waking up early in the morning won't be too hard for me to do everyday.

for those of you in an office job, would you care to give tips or advice for me? im open to anything whether it's on the wardrobe department or some pointers that i should be reminded in the workplace. thanks y'all!

pls wear more shorts. it suits u so much! love et

oohh.. you are too kind. i've been trying to wear more shorts in the past weeks since it will be tough for me to wear them more often when i start with my job and when the weather gets cooler (but that's what tights are for, right?). thanks for all the wonderful comments everyone!

  4. always always stay optimistic. As far as the business casual most of the time I would just throw a blazer on everything and some heels = business casual...it worked well most of the time lol

  14. congrats on the new job!! I work in a business casual setting and most of my outfits posted are work outfits. Just wear simple stuff to start and get a feel for what other people are wearing, and then make it your own.

  27. Dapat tinanong mo yung HR person on what to wear/what NOT to wear. When they say business casual they don't really have a "boundary" eh. Sa work ko they say wear something that's suitable for work (haha, how vague), so I invested in slacks and one tailored skirt. Some people at my work wear yung cargo-type pans in green, purple (!) and black, and then they pair it with shirt and hoodie. Haha. So much for business casual no?

Later on siguro I'll try to be more experimental with the tops/blouses since I am more comfortable wearing tailored pants than skirt at work. Esp. that it gets really cold because of the A/C. So I guess the best way is to look around the office and observe what people wear. :)

ALSO don't forget to bring flip flops and your baon!

  33. Summery indeed! I love the details here: the lace, the colors, the floppy hat and those amazing straps on your top!

Hmm well you really ought to dress on the safe side for now, just the usual businessy stuff. When you get the feel of the place you'll know just how far you can push your outfits!

  37. I think you can wear this skirt to work :) The length is not too short, not too long, JUST RIGHT :) Besides, you don't want to get stuck in boring dress pants and dress shirts, right? ;)

    Love the swap top!

  38. I seriously live in tights, caridgans, flats and headbands Monday-Friday 8-4. When I first started working in an office, I'd at least make an effort, but getting up at 6:30 gets old fast! Tresemme dry shampoo and a cute head band are seriously office essentials.
