back in winterpeg

im back here in winterpeg, as most of you would have guessed with my use of past tense sentences in my previous post about the calgary tower. my trip was so amazing! i would definitely go back there for shopping, leisure and of course visiting the boy.
i got back here a few days ago (aack, can i just complain as to why there's still snow on the ground!?). anyway, i've been trying to update myself with my emails and posts that i have missed last week. im in the process of uploading my last outfit post from calgary in chictopia. after that, i should be well on catching up with real time happenings here in my blog.

the next few weeks will be a bit hectic for me. i really could have stayed longer in calgary, but i have university research responsibilities here so i had to go back right away. plus, now that i've actually had a vacation, i feel more motivated to find a real job. career mode on!

btw, i just wanted to take this post as an opportunity to say thank you to all those who wished me well throughout my vacation. im happy to read that people still continue to visit my blog amidst my periodic posts. i promise to be a better blogger now especially that i realized i have already 65 followers!?! OMG!!! i know most of you have 100+ followers already but for an amateur like me, that means a lot. i'm so grateful and flattered! stay tuned, i just might cook up a little giveaway or something very soon!!!!

today was such a wonderful day. i decided that my bf and i should go skating at the forks. it was gorgeous outside and we didn't want the day to be put to waste of course...

it's been awhile since i used these

i was trying to figure out what to wear for a skating day. i really wanted to wear a skirt, but i didn't know if i'll last the whole afternoon if i did that. i ended up wearing jeans and my new oxford shoes! :D

it was good that there weren't so many people at the forks so i had more space to practice my non-existent skating skills. haha! my bf was having a grand time since he loved this activity. as for me, i have this love-hate thing going on with it. i know how to balance myself, but when i get the flow and start to accelerate, i just end up in the ditch or something since i don't know how to stop! hahahaha!

by 4pm, we decided to end our skating escapade and headed to a nearby italian & greek restaurant called Sta. Lucia. its funny because the last time we were in this place was the exact same date last year. anyway, food was so delicious as always. i was just watching iron chef last night with cheese as their main ingredient and getting the lasagna for dinner awhile ago was just satisfaction!!!!

oh btw, if you have been reading my chictopia posts before, you know that i used to work in campus as a grader/marker for accounting. guess what? they totally hired me again for this semester! finally, at least i have something to be busy about for the next 3 months or so. yay for that!

oh... i'll probably be doing another haul post next week since i got some new things here and there. oh the simple joys of freebies. *wink wink*

going away breakfast

the title's kinda confusing, eh?

well.. basically after 3 hours of sleep, i woke up to get ready for breakfast with a bunch of my friends. one of them is going out of the province to get her 8-month co-op / o.j.t. program thing. she's leaving this january 2 and she wanted to get together before that date. we went to the forks at salisbury house.

oh, one of my friends gave me a lip gloss from elf! yay! talk about stocking up on the balms! one of these days, i'll try to make a review of my lippies :D

it wasn't that bad outside today, to be honest. but i made the biggest mistake of wearing my new oxford wedges out. it was too late when i realized that the parking to that restaurant was far off and we had to walk thru slippery pavements and sidewalks. oh, what can you do? i did the penguin walk: one small step at a time. hahaha!
