new trousers

in case you didn't know, the camera im using is new and until now, im still trying to figure out how to work the settings to make good outfit posts. aahhhh but alas, i think this set will do for today.

outfit: tminx cropped tee, suzy shier blazer, f21 trousers, nyds bow pin, aldo wedges

i had quite a rough day at work since i was so slow with handling the claims. plus, i kept on going to the bathroom so that took time and delayed me even more with processing. anyway, im glad today's over and hopefully, i can make up for it tomorrow.

i decided to wear one of my purchases from my last trip to forever 21 since the boy and i are celebrating our monthsary today! yay! i actually just got off the phone with him and he was telling me that he had a rough day at work too.. aawww...

anyway, that's that. im glad mid week is here! oh and btw, before i go, i just wanted to share with you that i was runner up again this month for DOTM in Suddenly Darling. in case you're interested to know, you can join in the fun HERE.

Which restaurant did you go to? The only mongolian I've had is at Mongo's and I don't think that's really authentic... lol.
I'm liking the layered legwear!

thanks dear! the restaurant we went to is kahan's (i think). it's near sugar mountain. the choice of ingredients is pretty much the same as mongo's grill, but you should definitely give it a try! :D

paranormal night!

haven't gone to see any kind of movie in such a long time and when i heard that the paranormal activity was opening this week, i grabbed at a chance to see it. unfortunately, most of my girlfriends are not fond of horror movies, so i ended up inviting my boyfriend's siblings to see it in the cinemas last friday.

outfit: dress c/o kristy thru clothes swap, divi top, vanessa mooney cobra necklace, payless pumps, jacob belt
Align Center
i was crazy!!! by that, i mean the ticket sales.. there was a 7:40pm show and we decided to get there as early as 7pm for the tickets but they were all gone! we had no choice but to get the next show at 10:20pm.

since we had a lot of time to kill, we figured of just going around the mall and getting sushi for dinner. ooohhh yummy!

we got back in the cinema one hour before the show time (9:20pm) so that we can get good seats, but lo and behold there was already a long long long long long (CRAZY!) line outside all for the paranormal activity 2 screening. ftw?! what even happened was that due to the ticket demand, they closed another different movie to have 2 showings for the same time.

the movie wasn't that bad, i must say.. i was thinking it would suck since there's that curse for sequels or part 2's in movies. it had some good moments and i really loved how they were able to incorporate details from the first movie. but you'll still understand it even though you didn't see that one.

p.s. btw, if you have the time, tieka messaged me last week and told me that she's putting me and the boy up for her ''guy behind the camera'' feature. feel free to check it out on her blog.

bittersweet last day..

i had one more free day in calgary since i was able to request it at work. unfortunately, the boy had to go back to his routine of working 8-4 so after preparing breakfast with him, i was left to do some last minute shopping before heading back to winnipeg.

my last day in calgary was spent in the newly renovated chinook centre by my bf's place for some major shopping. the good thing was the mall had the only zara store in the city, the unfortunate thing was that the other stores i was looking forward to weren't open yet! booh!

after shopping i headed back to the apartment by using the c-train and started fixing my luggage for my trip back. it was so bittersweet since i felt so happy with my new purchases (i spent all my shopping money in zara. hahaha!), but at the same time, it was my last day with the boy. it made me feel sad that the blissful weekend was over and my time with him was just cut short just like that. *sighs*

eeepp.. pardon me for being so cheesy in the last few posts. i guess, i really just miss the boy. but on a lighter note, now that i've gotten those stories in here, i can definitely go back to my regular postings. which reminds me... while i was away, my blog was featured in here in modlychic. feel free to check it out. i'll be bringing back food tripping thursdays tomorrow so watch out for it! :D

it's a good day!

thank god it's friday! i have a lot to be happy about today aside from that. first of all, training at work is officially over. starting next week, i get to have my own desk and manage material by myself. speaking of work, i also got my first paycheck, most of which went to paying bills, buying a bus pass and saving up for my calgary visit next month! woot woot!

there was a mosquito on my nose, hahaha!

speaking of calgary, another thing im happy about is that my boyfriend (who's currently there) and i are celebrating our 35th monthsary! aaahhh.. i can't wait to spend time with him again. of course, i decided to wear something extra special today for that occasion -- something red, a pair of high heels and a feminine black dress.

happy monthsary!

finally, i'm able to wear these shoes i got thru chic rewards!

another thing is that the first weekend of this month is a long weekend! for students, that's a sign that school is going to start soon. for someone working like me, it's a paid statutory holiday! hurray!

outfit: divi cardigan, landmark dress, payless shoes thru chic rewards, vanessa mooney necklace

speaking of this new month, i was quite surprised to discover that i was one of the featured runner-ups in suddenly darling's darling of the month contest. basically, suddenly darling is a social networking fashion site that lets you earn points in exchange for gift cards. if you're interested to join, just click here for my referral link.

first week at work

sooo.. i know some of you may be curious as to how my first days at work went. well, i got acquainted with the building and offices that i'll be working at. we're basically on training mode for the next 2-3 weeks since there are some complicated terminologies and procedures to follow in assessing data.

aside from that, the week has just been about trying my best to wake up early, keeping myself alert throughout the day with lattes, sitting in front of the computer reading tons of guidelines and madly keeping up with rush hour traffic.

outfit: joe fresh top, talula skirt, celine pumps, sm headband
as for the dress code? well, they are actually very lenient. this outfit that i'm wearing is pretty dressy in comparison to the other people in the building. some people were even wearing runners, hoodies and denims (casual fridays), but of course im taking my job as the proper excuse to dress up. why wear runners if i can wear heels and wedges?!

it's really nice to be able to say that i have a real job now. i mean, it's not my field or anything, but for me i take it more as a foot in the door type of deal. it's been surreal for me to walk around downtown with the rest of the "working population", hahaha! i'm so shallow, yes? i guess it's only now that it's sinking in me that i actually am done with school and im being a productive part of society.

now it's the weekend. time to relax and party!

an illustration

i'm currently typing this post on a sunday night and im planning to publish it when i suddenly run out of things to blog about. i think that having this full time job will lessen my time here so i hope you don't mind me having these scheduled posts every now and then..

this outfit was thrown on a whim. the main point of this outfit was to feel comfortable and im telling you nothing feels softer than this striped tee that i got from jasmine through our clothes swap months ago. (which btw, jasmine, i got your package today! thanks!)

outfit: striped tee c/o clothes swap, divi skirt, nyds bow pin, joe fresh belt, shoebox flats

i was trying to figure out how to accessorize this look so i dug into my cabinet and saw this bow pin from nyds. i just attached it to a plain black headband and tadah, i got a bow headband to add that extra cute factor into my outfit.

oh btw, if you're wondering why that's my title for this post.. well that's because val of quiet girl messaged me a few days ago and told me that she made a painting of me in one of my outfit posts. i was so flattered since it's always been a dream of mine to be drawn or painted by anyone.

ok, so maybe she edited my hair and added that purse, but don't you think she really made me look even better in that painting. in case you're wondering, she based this illustration from this outfit photo.

wonderful, isn't it? this girl always makes me wish i had the same artistic inclination as her.

P is for Pancit!

Pancit or "Pansit" is stir-fried noodle dish, common in the Philippines, though of Chinese origin. This food is second in popularity to rice in the country. It's similar to yakisoba and yakiudon, Japanese-style stir-fried noodles. The word pancit is derived from the Hokkien (Min Nan) word pian i sit, which literally means something conveniently cooked fast. (wikipedia.com)

For today's Food Tripping Thursdays, I introduce you one of the most popular Filipino dishes ever. If it's a Filipino party, then it's totally incomplete without some type of variation of pancit! I'm showing you different types that I have had here and back in the Philippines. It may seem that they all look the same, but they don't taste the same, I promise! Hit the labels if you're interested in knowing recipes of the dishes.

1. Pancit Palabok

2. Pancit Bihon

3. Pancit Canton

4. Pancit Lomi
If you know some other versions of Pancit, feel free to comment below.

Aww,love the bear t-shirt :D and never tried sushi before,is it good?.Ox

Thanks, dear! You've never tried it? Well, I personally love it enough that I can eat it forever (yes, I'm serious, hahaha!). But it does take an acquired taste. Some people find the idea of eating something raw ickky, or some feel like they don't get full with eating bite size things like sushi.

P.S. I apologize for the slow down on outfit photos.. I've just been so lazy lately to dress up. A lot of times I just want to stay in the bath tub for hours. Either that or be in a beach somewhere getting a decent tan!

P.P.S. Jasmine added one of my outfits in her recent EIU article in chictopia. She featured chictopians wearing chic rewards they got from the site. I think it's a wonderful idea! Looking forward to more posts with this theme, dear!

become.com

i was recently contacted by the lovely Michele from Become.com with regards to doing a review of my blog. i was flattered that she picked Animated Confessions for this. you can view the feature here.

to be honest, i've never heard of Become.com until she contacted me through email regarding the site. upon receiving more information, i tried to look into the site and see what it has to offer. basically, Become.com is a search engine specifically tailored for product search and comparison shopping. it may look and function like other search engines, but what i really loved about the site is that it clearly states the prices of the products in your initial search. being an onlooker for sales and deals, this is definitely a big plus for me. another thing i found pretty neat is that they have this local shopping feature that tells you the nearest store within your area that sells that product you are searching for.
i got a little bit confused with where my feature was located. if you will read it here, you'll see that it directs you to Pocket Change. upon closer exploration, i found out that pocket change is the blog site for become.com. Basically, if they see something interesting out there in the market, they blog about it and even refer you to search results in their site. Their blog material is not limited to clothing alone since it covers all products from electronics to services to art and collectibles. that's for anyone out there reading this blog who just randomly stumbled upon it and has got no concern over fashion whatsoever. haha!

so if you're currently looking for a summer straw hat or a new camera or probably some furniture for your place, try become.com and tell me what you think.

Great outfit, I have a lace skirt in that colour and I might try pairing it with a shirt, perhaps chambray. Hadn't thought of that before so thanks for the inspiration!

oohh.. i thought of pairing my chambray shirt with the lace skirt too, but it's currently in the laundry so that look will have to wait. i recently got a clothes swap package from jasmine and i might have to try pairing this lace skirt with the tops she gave me. and speaking of the swap, jen recently styled the scarf i gave her for the clothes swap. you can check it out in her blog.
